Rochester, NH (4/22/06) 2005 NASCAR Busch East Series Powerade and Driver Achievement Award winner John Salemi will drive the #15 Waste Management Chevrolets for car owner Mark Willoughby during the 2006 season. The move marks a significant step forward in Salemi’s career and provides the Busch East Series with another very strong team competing in 2006.
Daddy’s Hot Sauce will move with John to the #15 team. Daddy’s was signed by Salemi Racing in late February and will still appear on the quarter panels of John’s car during the 2006 season. BG Environmental Inc and Dennis Ciotti Racing Products will return to the sides of the car, while Waste Management will remain on the hood of the green and white #15 Chevrolets, where it has been for years.
“I am excited to drive for Mark, Waste Management and Daddy’s Hot Sauce,” says Salemi. “We sat down and felt that by working together, we’d have an excellent chance at being a strong contender this season. We have a great mix of sponsors and have developed strong relationships with them. Mark has a solid organization and has shown that for years in this series.”
“I can’t wait to get to South Carolina and get this season going,” says Salemi. “We have the right pieces in place to run at the front in 2006. Mark and I have the same goals and believe that we can accomplish them this season. You need the right resources and support to run up front in this series. We had a great season last year are looking to take a huge step forward this year.”
The 2006 NASCAR Busch East Series season is set to begin at the Greenville Pickens Speedway, in Greenville, SC. Salemi will take the green flag in the season opener on June 10th.
