Salemi Ready for the 2006 Season and Greenville-Pickens
John Salemi Racing

Rochester, NH. (6/6/06) It has been a long off-season for NASCAR Busch East Series driver John Salemi. After a successful rookie season driving for a family-owned, limited budget team, Salemi is anxious to get behind the wheel of Mark Willoughby’s Chevrolets for the 2006 season. John will finally get that chance this coming Saturday at the Greenville Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC in front of a live TV audience on HDNet.

With many strong runs during the 2005 season, John hopes to build on last season and carry over the momentum to the new team and the 2006 season. “Saturday can’t come fast enough,” says Salemi. “Mark has top of the line equipment and we have excellent sponsors behind us in Waste Management, Daddy’s Hot Sauce, BG Environmental, and Dennis Ciotti Racing Products. We have worked hard all winter getting ready for the season and really want to get off on the right foot this weekend. I have great equipment this season and feel that we are capable of competing for wins each week.”

Saturday’s opener in South Carolina marks the beginning of a tough June schedule for the Busch East Series teams. With the late start to the season, the first four races of the year will all be run in nineteen days. “This scheduling is tough on teams and equipment, leaving very little time to prepare in between the weeks,” says John. “The extra travel time is taken directly out of time in the shop for most teams based in New England. The crew has been working twice as hard in advance to make sure that things are ready.”

An American Revolution 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet is set to take the green flag this coming Saturday night June 10th at 8pm at the Greenville Pickens Speedway. The race will be shown live in high definition on HDNet. Sponsorship opportunities are still available on the #15 car.
